Assessment for learning

At the heart of effective learning are the principles of Assessment for Learning.

 

This is called many different things, formative assessment, formative practice, innovative practice are just a few of the terms.  This fundamentally means students are very clear on what, how and why they are learning something, and that they have a degree of autonomy over their learning.

Ember's approach to this is to help your school explore and understand the components of Assessment for Learning and figuring out the best and most effective way to improve the learning in your classroom. We approach this work through a rigorous evaluative process to know if the changes that are made makes a difference to the learner.
